About Miss KatieHello Student and Parents! I am very excited to get this year started at AHS!
I graduated from V.I.T. High School in 2008. From there I attended Black Hawk College East in Kewanee, IL, majoring in Equestrian Science. While there I was very active on the Nationally ranked Horse Show Team as well as a member of the 2010 AQHA Reserve World Champion Horse Judging Team. I graduated from BHE with an AAS in Equestrian Science in May of 2010. While serving as Miss Rodeo Illinois 2010, I took general education courses at Black Hawk as I prepared to compete for Miss Rodeo America 2011 in December 2010. In January 2011, I transferred to Illinois State University, majoring in Agricultural Education. While there I served as the 2012-2013 President of Agriculture Science Club. I completed my student teaching at Athens High School, under Mr. Terry Brown and Mr. Mike Butler. I graduated from ISU with a BS in Agricultural Education in May of 2013. I am currently taking graduate courses at Illinois State University and the University of Illinois. Go Rebels! |
Welcome to Agriculture! This website is very easy to use! At the very top of the page you will see a purple bar with the words:home, courses, FFA, etc. Simply hover your mouse over the name you are looking for and a drop down menu should appear. Just click on the topic that you are looking for.
Under courses you will find a page for each of the classes that I teach. There is a course description and outline on each page. For each course, I will try to have the online links and weekly homework, test and quiz updates as a sub-link to the page. Under FFA is where you will find this years officers, a calendar of current events, Alumni and CDE information. The Discovery FFA will have the same thing as FFA but it will pertain more to the Jr. High members. On the Astoria High School page, there is a link to the school page as well as a link to the South Fulton Argus. I will try to keep it up to date on current events. Lastly the college and university page is created to help you in your college preparation. There you will find links to all of the colleges and universities in Illinois that provide an agriculture program. It's never too early to start planning!!!
